Frederick Douglass High School recently held its Commitment to Graduate Ceremony, an event designed to motivate students to make the most of their high school years.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of involvement and dedication to education, with the goal of helping students graduate successfully and achieve success beyond high school.
“The main goal of the assembly is to inspire students to make the most of their four years at Frederick Douglass High School”, said Mrs. Mills, Assistant Principal.
The event featured student ambassadors who shared insights on leadership opportunities and ways to get involved at FDHS. A guest speaker, Murray Garvin, delivered an inspiring message about the significance of education. The ceremony aimed to encourage students to embrace the opportunities available to them and to commit to their academic journey.
“It serves as a reminder to the school’s commitment to supporting students in their pursuit of academic and personal growth,” says Mills.
The peer leaders shared their experiences and insights, offering practical advice on how to make the most of high school. Their stories of leadership and involvement resonate deeply with their fellow students, demonstrating that success is attainable through dedication and participation.
