Thorpedo Anna, Mrs. Pennington’s family horse, is a winner!
Mrs. Pennington’s family works in horse racing. They recently have had a winning horse that competed in the Kentucky Oaks, a race that takes place a day before the derby for female horses, and Thorpedo Anna won that race! She has gone on to win more races, even competing against male horses.
“This coming weekend, on Friday and Saturday, out in San Diego, at Delmore race track, is the breeders cup which is like the world championship essentially for race horses for the
three year old’s,” says Mrs. Pennington. “So, she’ll be racing in the breeders cup distaff which is against all the fillies in the world. Currently, she’s in the running to be named “Race Horse of the Year”. And she’s a filly so that makes it super cool because it’s usually male horses and she’s a female horse.”
The horse racing business as a whole seems pretty competitive. We wish Thorpedo Anna much luck in her upcoming races!
