Not everyone is enjoying this cell phone ban, and it’s understandable. Kids are getting out of hand and aren’t doing their part on giving up the phone.
“I get that they can be distracting, but sometimes they’re really useful for something quick,” said Kayla Hudson, sophomore. “ I might need to search up, or check in with my family, it feels like we’re being treated like little kids”.
Although another student I interviewed shared a completely different opinion about the cellphone ban and mentioned some things that make a lot of sense.
“The cellphone ban is something I’m still trying to figure out, it’s nice being able to stay more focused.” said Nevaeh Sparks, sophomore. “But then again I have moments when I might be stuck on a problem and can’t search it up”.
Unlike students, many teachers feel like the new cell phone policy is actually a good thing for the classroom.
“For the first time, I’ve seen students actually engaging in conversations,” said Mrs. Vincent, English teacher.
Clearly some are enjoying it because they focus better, while others miss the quick access. It’s a lot of mixed opinions, and honestly people don’t feel like it will last very long. I guess we just need to see how it works out.
