There are ambassadors within our school who are leaders.
You may see them wearing their green jackets proudly throughout the building as they help with various events. They represent who we are as a school, so it’s a high honor if you are chosen! To become one, you have to apply to their most recent event, the State of Schools.
Mrs.Mills, Assistant Principal, is the leader and represents the ambassadors, and she is very, very passionate about creating leaders of the school.
“Ambassadors are the leaders of the school here at Douglass,” said Mrs. Mills. “They give tours, and if a teacher needs help with something, the ambassadors are there to help.”
Our ambassadors are held to a very high standard. The ambassadors will have many events to attend, where the mayor will also be involved. The mayor also holds fellow ambassadors to a high standard; ambassadors also hold themselves to a high standard.
“I feel that being an ambassador opens up great opportunities, and I can be a leader in the school and a good example to incoming freshmen,” said Ella Dulaney, junior. “I want to be a leader and help upcoming students be comfortable within the school.”
The ambassadors are the leaders and people who represent our school at all events, and Mrs. Mills carefully chooses and teaches the student leaders how to thrive as leaders and continue to improve their leadership skills and qualities.
