Amnesty is a human rights club that focuses on current human rights issues and encourages positive change. The club gives students a space to talk about important topics outside of school that affect everyone. It also allows students to share their thoughts, experiences, and values in a friendly setting.
“The core idea behind Amnesty is less about what we gain but more about who we help” Said by Mia Bonarigo
The club highlights different ways to support or oppose various political issues. It ensures that all students are represented and that important matters are addressed. “Amnesty has been such a great experience and I have been able to learn so much” Said by Mia Bonarigo.
The club meets every two weeks on Tuesday after school and once a week on Wednesday during advisory. Meetings usually have around 25-35 people and are always open to new members. Ms.Bolinger is the club’s fundraiser and is available to answer any questions.
