Calling all sweet tooths: the cafeteria has started selling ice cream during lunch!
For only $2 students can choose from many varieties of ice cream including vanilla, chocolate/vanilla, crumble cookie cone, sour cyclone, strawberry shortcake, orange cream bar, fudge frenzy, chocolate crunch cake.
“I wanted to offer another snack,” says Jane Adams, the cafeteria manager. “I wanted to get another snack for the kids to buy and enjoy.”
The cafeteria team is always looking for ways to improve child nutrition.
“The ice cream helps us maintain the child nutrition program to continue having a variety of food for kids to enjoy,” says Adams.
Students are enjoying the new change of having ice cream flavors added to lunch.
“I think they should keep selling it all year long,” says Laila Sanford, a freshman.
