STLP is a fun and engaging club that is open to students at FDHS.
STLP stands for student technology leadership. It consists of many projects and it is focused on tech skills, coding, digital arts, and anything technology related. “It is a statewide program,” says Mrs. Brewer, the technology specialist, “where students can make all kinds of projects or assignments that they could normally do in the classroom.”
STLP is a very student driven program and they are currently looking for projects to do that eventually make it to the state competition in march at Rupp Arena. “Students from across the state will go and compete against other schools,” says Brewer.
There are many benefits and good opportunities to STLP. Competitions give students experience with public speaking and socializing. It also allows students to learn about technology, which is
very important. “Students get to learn all kinds of leadership qualities, jump ahead of other students and learn how to publicly speak, interview people and answer questions, as well as meet new people,” says Brewer.
If technology is what you’re interested in, this is the club for you.
