The Bluegrass Girls U15 Soccer Team went to North Carolina this past weekend. They went to North Carolina expecting it to be warm but were hit with freezing hail the first game.
14 year old player on the team Daphne Oser revealed how cold it was by saying, “My toes are completely numb.”
Even though everyone’s fingers and toes are numb they still came out strong and pulled through with a 2-0 win.
Saturday Dec 6 11:40pm was the time of the second game. Still freezing but no hail.
The team that the Bluegrass girls were about to play beat a team 6-0 yesterday so you can imagine they were nervous.
One of the captains’ on the team Izzy Barjuca hypes the team up by saying, “I don’t care, we are beating this team no matter what.”
Unfortunately Izzy was wrong, the team fought hard but ended up tying the team 1-1. Still a well fought effort and just an unfortunate result.
Sunday 11:40pm Last game. A little warmer mid 40s was the temperature.
The stakes were high going into the final game. The team needed a win of 4 or more in order to win their bracket.
Fortunately for them they started off strong with a 2-0 lead in the first half.
After scoring their fourth goal Hadley Jackson made the team happy by saying, “ We just won our division!”
Even after that the team went on to score yet another goal ending the game with a 5-0 victory.
Overall the team had a very successful weekend winning their bracket and driving 8 hours to return home.
