Valentine’s Day just passed, and Douglass celebrated it by hosting the Sadie Hawkins Dance and a Sweetheart Dance all in one!
Due to the fact that it was a Sadie’s dance, the girl is supposed to ask the guy out, rather than the other way around.
But, moving onto Douglass’ specific Sadie Hawkins Sweetheart Dance, it was hosted on Valentines day was a big success, bringing students together for a fun evening supporting a good cause. The gym was decorated with bright colors and students enjoyed dancing with all of their friends.
The Sadie Hawkins dance is set up by Dance Blue which is an organization that raises money for kids with cancer. All of the proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to UK hospitals.
Many people said that the dance was very enjoyable and had such a fun time.
”I had such a great time getting dressed up and dancing with all of my friends!” said Gisselle Matiez, a student that went to the dance.
Overall, the dance was considered a success by both the students who attended and the organizers, raising funds for an important cause while giving students a fun night.
