On Friday May 1st Frederick Douglass hosted their Dance Blue Mini Marathon. Dance Blue is an organization run by UK to help raise money for kids with pediatric cancer. With a lot of work from committee members and chairs they raised over $28,000 which is 10,000 more dollars than they made last year.
“Dance blue was so much fun and it’s a great way to raise money as a community for a good cause.” Says Ella Rafferty, a student who attended the event. Other students state how much fun the event was and will be back next year. The night was filled with food, games, and dancing all to raise money for the children.
They also had a special guest, a boy fighting Leukemia, and the group of students all signed a poster to help support him. Everyone had such a great time for such a great cause.
