Many may ask, “Why is there a horse in the foyer at FDHS?”. Well here’s your story:
FDHS finds itself at the center of an interesting local trend: the expansion of art horses around Lexington.
This horse has quite a story… This is quite a local trend and we later joined the club. The FDHS horse was inspired by the school using 4 designs provided by the school into one.
However, the horse was bought and later got bought by someone in the community who then continued to donate it back to the school.
Adding to this narrative, it appears that students at FDHS have played a direct role in bringing these horses to life, one of those particular pieces being displayed within the school foyer.
Executive Principal Lester Diaz is associated with communications regarding these art horses, suggesting that the school’s support for such creative artists.
The presence of student-painted art horses at FDHS highlights how educational institutions can foster artistic expression and engage with the community in a unique and impactful way.
The horse was inspired by the community and added hints of Douglass spirit, bringing bright and colorful colors to keep the happiness from downtown.
